The first-year discount on Premium is easy to miss. In year two, the bill rises by $4 per person per month. For a 15-person team, that's a $720-per-year increase. Budget on the renewal price, not the intro price.
The real problem in time tracking isn't the user count
Time tracking only works if everyone does it. As the team grows, the free plan quickly falls short, and the per-seat fee goes toward a feature people touch for a few seconds a day.
The bigger problem is the tool standing apart. Toggl has projects, tags, and integrations - yet estimates live in one system while actuals live in another. Answering "did this project blow its budget?" means exporting from two places and merging them in a spreadsheet.
Time tracking inside the task board
In Lodos, Kronos is one of 30 modules, included in every plan - the free one too. Entries aren't free-text written from memory; they attach to real tasks on your actual task board. Estimate and actual appear on the same screen, because both live in the same data layer.
Let's be honest: if you're a small team and time tracking is your only need, Toggl's free plan is already a good option and there's no reason to leave it. Toggl's browser extension, idle detection, and background tracking also don't exist in Kronos.
Where Kronos makes sense is teams already consolidating their stack. If you're moving chat, tasks, and meetings into one workspace, the marginal cost of time tracking drops to zero.
